As board member of the local ADHD Association Chapter and volunteer worker for the Danish ADHD Association I am deeply committed to making a difference in the ADD/ADHD community around the world.
I want to make a difference in the lives of teenagers and young adults by providing 1-on-1 coaching, group coaching, speaks, and workshops. Through ADD coaching I can help them develop important life skills, such as advocating for them selves, communication skills, good self care, money management, organization skills, social skills, and time management.
To make this happen I would like to attend the ADD Coach Training Program at ADD Coach Academy, USA, (see www.addca.com).
Therefore, I am raising money to pay for tuition, which is $4900.00. I have received a $1000 scholarship and the local Lions Club has donated $500.00. Therefore, I am in need of $3400.00.
The majority of teenagers and young adults struggling with ADD/ADHD find it very difficult to finish their education and/or get a job and maintain it for a longer period of time. Many end up being on welfare or receiving early retirement. They often struggle with low self esteem, impulsivity, and end up in debt, maybe even become addicted to alcohol, drugs, gambling, and committing criminal acts. Studies show that about 1/3 of the male prisoners have ADD/ADHD.
Surprisingly, ADD/ADHD is not all negative. There are also positive aspects to having ADD/ADHD, such as creativity, an ability to multitask effectively, lots of energy, a sense of humor, versatility, the ability to let go of grudges, a talent for thinking “outside the box”, and the drive to focus on something they are interested in.
If you have ADD/ADHD or you know someone who does, you know that living with ADD/ADHD can be really frustrating. Therefore, I hope that you will help me make my dream come true by donating whatever you can afford, so that I can make a difference in the lives of these wonderful young people.
Thank you very much for your time!
Best regards,
Charlotte Hjorth, Denmark
ADD: Attention Deficit Disorder.
ADHD: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
I wasn’t able to raise any money for the ADD Coach Traning Program fron the Pledgie site. However, I have managed to raise the money elsewhere, and started the coach training last September.
I am very exited about this training program and have now formed my ADHD Coaching business.
I am looking very much forward to the impact that my coaching will have on these young peoples lives, and how they can bring their full potential to fruition.
Best,
Charlotte
