Yes I am mad……And absolutely serious. I am running the Edinburgh

marathon Sunday 25th May this year…. For George

At 20 weeks of pregnancy I lost my waters and George managed to hang on in there for another 8 weeks and was then born at 28 week gestation severely squashed and bruised weighing 2.2lb.

He spent the first 6 months of his life in Hospital fighting against the odds. He has malformation of his hip joints affecting his ability to walk long distances and cerebral palsy which affects his balance when tired.

He is growing into a very positive young man, loves his sports and adventures and determined to join in with his peers.

The NHS cannot provide him with decent transport to get around for any distance by himself so I am raising money for him and others in similar situations.

George is now 10 and for his Independence

, We think we may have found the answer.

THE SEGWAY!

Its Cool, He’s up on his legs, He’s on his own!!!

George got on one of these this summer and I have never seen him so excited. If I was rich I would have bought him one there and then!

So this is to keep George Smiling and able to lead as normal a life as possible.

To go to the cinema with friends, to go to school by himself, to be able to go out in the woods, along the seafront

Who knows maybe one day with help and support George may be able to compete in this event himself one day, nothing would surprise me!
