Dago Thim Outreach Feeding Program

GlobalEyes recently completed construction of new latrine facilities at Dago Thim Primary School, located outside of Kisumu in western Kenya. Our next step is to initiate a feeding program for student school lunches and outreach feeding of additional meals for other hungry children in the community.


For the over 600 students at Dago Thim - many of whom walk more than 2 km to and from school - this lunch will sometimes be the only reliable meal of the day. Proper nutrition is essential to the educational success of students at Dago Thim.

Six months feeding (fruits, vegetables, cereals, beans) $850
Supplies (stove, pots and pans, dishes, cups, utensils) $650
TOTAL $1500

GlobalEyes initiated a similar outreach feeding program at neighboring Obede Primary School in 2006.

Many thanks to all who donated to the Dago Thim Feeding Program - to those who attended the February 28th fundraiser, and to those who could not attend but contributed to this Pledgie campaign. In total, we raised $2400 thanks to a generous matching grant from the Cordes Family Foundation!
