Standing Firm - Christian Film

What is this film about?:
A construction worker by the name of Dave and his son Steven, are now living in difficult times. In a recent car accident which claims the life of Dave's wife...times get more difficult. His wife being the greater financial bread winner, Dave is now forced to work harder to keep up with piling bills while Steven is forced to watch his father slowly weaken. Angry at God for his wife's death, Dave rebels against the Lord throwing his life down a slippery slope to disaster. All the while Steven (the Christian of the household) is watching his father destroy himself and now must help his father find forgiveness in his heart to save their crumbling family.

Why are we making this film?:
As Christians, our goal is to seek and save the lost. Film is a valuable avenue to do so, thus Praise Pictures was started! Our goal is to make life challenging, engaging, impactful, soul winning, Christian edifying, and God glorifying films to be used for His purpose.

Who is helping make this film?:
Besides Praise Pictures, many volunteers will be involved in the making of Standing Firm. Most notebly the people who will fill the crew & cast positions such as actors, gaffers, camera operators, production assisstants, and most important prayer warriors! A lot of volunteers will come from a local church located in Lewiston much like the way movies you may have heard of like Facing The Giants, and Flywheel were created. We hold to the same truth inspired by God's Word that Sherwood Pictures also uses and thats honoring the Lord with a project, trusting in him to lead it to completion, and stepping back and watching him Bless it and use it for his Glory and Honor.

How can I help with this film?:
We hope to begin shooting in May 08 and some crew positions have yet to be filled. If you have any experience as a filmmaker and would possibly like to be involved in a Christian movie project please contact us ASAP. On the other hand, movies do need one thing other than people and thats a budget. We do have a budget but it will quickly fill up with costs for things like equipment, food, transportation, etc. Unexpected expenses are always a possibility so any amount would be helpful.
