Amazing Fun-Raising: iPod Nano Raffle 2

By amazingproject (add to contacts)

The Amazing Project & Public Design Center have teamed up to raffle off one fine iPod Nano. It only costs a buck to enter, and the proceeds support our efforts to promote and enable truly amazing work. Already have an iPod? Make it a holiday gift. We won’t tell.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each $1 pledge to The Amazing Project gets 1 raffle ticket. Pledge $20.00, multiply your chance of winning twenty-fold.
  • The raffle begins November 19 and ends November 27 2007
  • We’ll randomly select a winner. Literally, we’re putting all the email addresses in a hat and picking one. We’ll make a video for YouTube. Stupid, but funny.
  • The winner will be announced on this page and at amazingproject.org on Wednesday November 28 2007. The winner will also be contacted by email.
  • The iPod will be shipped to the address of the winner’s choosing.
  • Questions? just email randy (at) amazingproject.org

About the iPod

Not only is it a brand new 8gb iPod Nano, it’s a (PRODUCT) RED Nano. That means Apple gives a portion of the purchase price to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. The new iPod Nano retails for $199.00 and this is your chance to own one for $1.00.

It’s customized!

The back of this iPod Nano is laser engraved with a special message from The Amazing Project.

What is The Amazing Project?

Awesome Answer

The Amazing Project highlights worthwhile projects from amazing people doing amazing things to improve the world and connects them to volunteers (like you).

Super-Awesome Answer

The Amazing Project is a New York State non-profit corporation (approval pending). Our goal is to foster a culture of hope by sharing the stories of people who are making a positive impact in the world and connecting potential volunteers and participants with accessible ways to get involved. We will share these stories through a robust website, regular email newsletter, special online projects, public exhibitions, printed publishing projects, and events.

We aim to help amazing people succeed.

What is The Public Design Center?

Public Design Center, Inc. is an independent 501©(3) non-profit organization founded in Mississippi in January of 2007 with the mission of providing design-studio production for groups and projects which focus on economic development and sustainability in underserved communities.

The Public Design Center teamed up with The Amazing Project to get the word out and created the beautiful and charming iPod illustration promoting the fund-raiser.

Why does The Amazing Project need my support?

The Amazing Project is completely boot-strapped and self-funded. We’re doing this because we want to help amazing people share their amazing stories of hope, resilience, and ingenuity. Those are the stories that can motivate us all to take steps, both large and small, to influence the world in positive ways.

We’ve just filed our non-profit incorporation papers with the State of New York. Legal fees, start-up costs, office expenses, and hosting fees are just some of the small hurdles we need to overcome as The Amazing Project takes off. Raffles like this one are a fun way to generate interest and funds that help make The Amazing Project a reality.

Don’t need an iPod, but want to help?

You rock! We’re looking for volunteer editors to help us compile and refine content for our web site, help with online promotion, and more. You can email Randy (our founder) directly at: randy (at) amazingproject.org if you’d like to get involved.
